Simon is currently based in Zurch, Switzerland.

Simon Fässler is a photographer and architect from Zurich, Switzerland. With his camera, he explores identity, place, and shared history.

After receiving his master’s in architecture in 2014, he traveled to Tunisia where he documented an abandoned hot spring near the arid salt lake Chott el Djerid.

In 2016, he participated in a seminar at the International Center of Photography ICP where he created Believe, a portrait series of middle school students in East New York, Brooklyn.

In 2022, he began Tableaux Vivants, a video-based study of urban landscapes.

The following year, he was selected for the ICP Masterclass, graduating with honors with Passion Lives Here, which portrays the current inhabitants of the former Olympic Village in Turin, Italy.

Simon is a recipient of the International Center of Photography Director’s Fellowship in 2025 and graduated from the Documentary Practice program in 2026 with After I’m Gone. In this project, he examines the social landscape surrounding End-of-Life Care and Medical Aid-in-Dying, and documents the individual stories of those navigating it.
